Show me one place in scriptures that are unique to the LDS faith that says anything against homosexuality. Can't. Because it ain't there. There is no scriptures against Homosexuals except in the Bible. And what about the word Sodomy? Wouldn't exist if only Joseph Smiths Inspired version were the standard. The people of Sodom weren't Gay in Joseph Smith's version. They were rapists. Big difference. (O.K. they were Bi-Sexual rapist but the main point was they were rapists not that they were Gay). Therefore we will not be destroyed because of accepting Gay people. Accepting rape however will bring down God's wraith... which makes a lot of sense. Mormons have never been anti-Gay. I for one am sick of lies just for political expedience. Mormons always contribute more money than anyone else, politics, charity, whatever. Just the way it is. Who contributes the most to Aids research? Hmmm.... G do I need to draw a picture of Utah for you????? If A Gay person wants to get married nobody is stopping them. Nobody. You want my acceptance?? What difference does my acceptance make. You will never get my acceptance. So this is just a tricky legal maneuver. Why? To dictate to Churches, to control religion, to abolish religion as we know it. And the top of Anti-religions list? Shut down LDS Temples. Gays had a great friend with Mormons. But everyone has their limits. I am getting close to reaching mine. Go ahead and Marry but don't expect my acceptance of it. It will never happen as long as the world lasts. Nothing you do or say will change that. Doesn't mean I would not die for you. Being in the Armed service, and having worked with some Gay soldiers, I can say confidently I would take a bullet for them. I would take a bullet for you. That is all I can give you. That is all you will ever get from me. That is it. I can't give anymore.

"Flowers refuses to make a clear anti-mormon statement even though he is quite far from believing in their backwards doctrines like blacks being the cursed descendants of Cain or plural marriage being a divine practice that will return in the fullness of time. (Please don’t fool yourself that this is just ‘anti-mormon literature’ - it’s history)"
This is paraphrasing, pulling bits and pieces of doctrines without giving the full belief. If you sincerely have questions try this website: www.Mormon.org It should be able to answer any question you have to ask about gay marriage, polygamy, or any thing else you're wondering about.

Some of the objectors are probably gay mormons who have refused to conform to their church's discriminating law.Boycotting The Killers album is pointless.

Look, Im not being funny but why do people want to boycott The Killers for? Yes brandon is a mormon and belongs to the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, But whats the problem ??

Everyone has a right to their sexuality. I know you've already guessed but i am a mormon and i was baptised about a month ago and before that i was being taught by missionaries who came over from Utah and Las vegas, and the missionary from las vegas knew Brandon. I have a friend whos gay and he is also being taught by the missionaries and hes welcomed into our church.

not many people know this and it may be slightly off topic but, Robin williams protest and funds anti-mormonism and i dont see you all boycotting him?

Its just opinions, if you are homosexual you are still welcomed into church just along as you aren't a practising homosexual. My best friends are gay and lesbian, and i dont have a problem. So please .. why are you all being so ridiculous ???

Seems like the haters here are those spewing hate about the Mormons. This country allows the people to vote, and vote they have. To denigrate a religious group for it is... prejudice. So, LA Sidney, Stephen, Sheldon, Greg, why all the hate? Why are you intolerant? Why do you do that which you claim to be against?

Hypocrites.

I find it ironic that the people that proclaim “tolerance” all the time tend to only be tolerant with people that agree with them. The black community in California voted overwhelmingly for prop 8. Must we also boycott all black actors and authors that haven’t taken a public stance on the proposition? This is ridiculous.

Blacklisting!? Is this Nazi Germany, Communist Russia or Red Scare-McCarthyism U.S.A. circa 1950? You are willing to boycott a band because their lead singer is Mormon? This witchhunting absurd.

Gay-rights activists have labeled their cause, "tolerance" but I've read some serious intolerance in this forum.

Not buying an artists album because the singer might believe in something that you don't? Why don't I go throw away my Cat Steven's album because Muslim's believe in Jihad or my Alice in Chains album because Lane Staley Over Dosed on Heroin, or Van Gough prints because he cut off his own ear?--All practices that I don't believe in.

Do you see how your boycotting is completely ridiculous?

Go ahead and fight for a cause but stop putting celebrities in the stocks because their beliefs are contrary to your own.

In defense to Brandon:
Why judge? Everyone in this country has the freedom of religion, and Brandon was raised a Mormon and has chosen to continue his belief in the "Mormon" Doctrine. This does not and should not take away from his being a very successful musician. Although he is very open to tell the media that he is a member of the Mormon church, he is definitely not using that as his means to influence people as a public figure. If that were so, he would probably be preaching Mormon Doctrine instead of writing and performing music. At the same time, his music does not have strong ties to anything Mormon. He may mention God or some kind of belief in heaven, praying, etc., but there is nothing that stands out as being a direct link to the Mormon church. I guess what I am trying to say is that Brandon has no need nor responsibility as a public icon, who happens to be a Mormon, to take a stance on an issue that may have something to do with the Mormon church. His responsibility as a public figure is to continue to write and perform his music. Therefore, we should judge him on his ability to do that, not in his religious standpoint. Whether or not you buy the new album is up to you personally, but as for me, I own it and love it. I am a huge fan of The Killers and Brandon Flowers regardless of their religious beliefs.
