Bond. James Bond.

NY Daily News’ Faber hates on the new Bond Theme. We disagree and make a list.
In today’s New York Daily News, music critic Jim Faber bashed the new James Bond theme by Alicia Keys and Jack White, writing:
White’s “Another Way to Die” swipes the dubious claim of Rita Coolidge’s “All Time High” as being the worst Bond theme ever performed (hers appeared in 1983’s “Octopussy”).
White’s song is everything a Bond theme should never be: hesitant, wimpy and diffuse. There’s no relationship at all between his guitar parts and the obligatory orchestral ones, and even less rapport between him and partner Keys. Did they even record this song on the same continent, let alone the same studio? Her strident cries bear no relation to his brooding moans.
Worse, the song meanders, indulging a long introduction before belly-flopping into the laziest riff White has ever penned.
Wow. Mr Faber couldn’t be more wrong. “Another Way To Die” is a classic Bond theme song. Which is why today we’re making a list of out ten favorite James Bond them songs:

9. Louis Armstrong - “We Have All the Time In The World” (1969)
8. A-ha - “The Living Daylight” (1987)
7. Carly Simon - “Nobody Does It Better” (1977)
6. Nancy Sinatra - “You Only Live Twice” (1967)
5. Jack White and Alicia Keys - “Another Way to Die” (2008)
4. Duran Duran - “A View to a Kill” (1985)
